Aliso Viejo Center - Case Study
Golf Management Company Takes Sales from 100K to 1.3M
The Case:
The City of Aliso Viejo opened and operated the conference center in 2009. Shortly thereafter, the City was challenged in profit generation and was struggling to stay afloat. They decided to sign a management agreement with an outside golf course management company in the hopes of turning the facility profitable. Unfortunately, over the next 5 years, the City ended up losing close to a million dollars, forcing the City Manager and City Council to seek new solutions.
The Solution:
In January 2015, the City published the Request For Proposal in search of a new “partner that embodies high-quality standards, emphasizes excellent customer service and has the ability to maintain consistently high standards while managing and operating the Conference Center’. In their search for management, operations and maintenance of the facility, Z-Golf and Wedgewood Wedding & Banquet Center gladly submitted. After a very stringent RFP process, the City of Aliso Viejo selected Z-Golf and Wedgewood based on their proven financial track record, strong brand in weddings and events, professionalism and sales.
The Result:
Since taking over operations in August 2016, Z-Golf has taken sales from 100K to 1.3M for 2016 and is on schedule to show a profit by the end of the year.
